Looking at its Supplement Facts label I can see that there are over 40 ingredients, split into these three proprietary blends (with the # of ingredients each one has, & how much it weighs):

- Probiotic & Prebiotic Digestive Support Blend (7; 100 mg)
I won’t go over every ingredient individually (mercifully); boy, we’d all be asleep halfway through that. But let’s look at those three blends one at a time so we can understand what makes the Okinawa Flat Belly Tonic tick.
Polyphenol Blend: Does it really promote weight loss?
In case you didn’t know, a polyphenol is a natural compound found in lots of plants that often acts as an antioxidant, helping to protect the body from harm. It gives some plant, fruits, & vegetables their color too.
Calling it a Polyphenol Blend may sound impressive, but in simplest terms I can tell you that all that’s in it are just 27 different fruit extracts (well, 26 fruit & 1 flower, hibiscus). I think the only familiar fruits I didn’t see listed were pears & bananas.
Another thing I think you should be aware of is that doing a little quick math will reveal that almost 80% of the Okinawa Flat Belly Tonic is made up of this fruit extract blend.

Polyphenols & weight loss research isn’t strong
My summary: When it comes to fruit extract polyphenols and their role in weight loss, the evidence is rather weak.

We have just learned that the ingredients chosen for the Okinawa Tonic’s Metabolic Blend have either shown that they:

So far so ‘kind of’ good I guess. But that can’t hide the fact that most of those ingredients “may” help but haven’t proven that they do help.
The main problem with Okinawa Flat Belly Tonic’s Metabolic Blend…
…lies in the total quantity of these potentially beneficial ingredients. With just 465 mg allocated for all eight components, it’s hard to see how each one can be an effective dose.
For example, the green tea extract study by Venables et al. (2008) used a dose of 500 mg, while the whole Okinawa Flat Belly Tonic metabolic blend only has 465 mg total.
Similarly, a study on cinnamon bark extract by Zare et al. (2019) used doses ranging from 1 to 6 grams per day (that’s 1000 – 6000 mg), which is way higher than what the OFBT Metabolic Blend has in it.
This is a case where the ingredients might work, but there just aren’t enough of them to ever know.
The other problem: the Metabolic Blend is also proprietary
We have no idea how much of each ingredient is being used. We only know that Shilajit extract is the biggest of the eight ingredients, in terms of weight, in the Metabolic Blend.
